Essential Functions and Job Summary 

The NBA is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Voice/Network Engineer. This position will be responsible for supporting our voice and network environment. The position will be part of a multifunctional team that supports, secures, and maintains the global NBA Network.  This network spans through offices in over 15 countries, the top cloud vendors, as well as NBA, WNBA, and G-League Arenas. The NBA network is responsible for carrying critical communication, content, and applications that reach fans and partners in almost every country.

 

Major Responsibilities

Voice Support 
•    Responsible for daily operations of our voice systems to include responding to trouble tickets as well as planning and executing system upgrades and changes
•    Responsible for configuring and supporting SIP routers and gateways
•    Provide direction on VoIP network technically and financially
•    Maintain and support our Zoom video conferencing technology

 

Network Support 
•    Responsible for diagnosing and fixing end user network issues that can include Wi-Fi, wired, security (firewall), and application problems
•    Part of a team that is responsible for configuring, installing, and securing critical network solutions
•    Support complex network solutions in on-prem and hybrid environments
•    Be part of a team that manages, monitors, improves, and supports hardware for a global network environment to include routers, switches, firewalls, voice services, wireless controllers
•    Engage in conversations and provide technical and functional expertise with internal and external customers
•    Performs problem isolation and resolution of network problems
•    Support live events throughout the year which may include global travel

 

Required Education/Professional Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Services, or a related technical discipline
•    Experience in lieu of a degree

•    3+ years as a Voice/Network Engineer

 

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

•    Strong troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve voice and network issues
•    Hands-on experience in VoIP deployments, IP routing, Call control, and SIP trunking
•    Knowledge and basic understanding of routing and switching protocols, TCP/IP, Multicast, Wi-Fi, MPLS, VPN, 802.1x
•    Transitioning an on-prem voice system to a cloud calling system is a plus
•    Proficient level and hands on experience with Cisco Routing and Switching Product family (NX-OS & IOS)
•    Operational experience with Network Security Devices (Fortinet, Palo, ASA, Cisco ISE)
•    Familiar with voice and network tools (Zoom Dashboard, Wireshark, Sevone)
•    Familiar with ticketing and project management tools (ServiceNow, Jira)
•    Ability to work well in a team while still being self-sufficient
•    Ability to be in our on-call rotation to support our live games as well as our 24/7 operations
•    Ability to accurately handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
•    Ability to travel upon request to support live events throughout the year

 

 

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000
