Position Summary:

This position is part of the NBA Social & Digital Content team which focuses on creating, distributing and publishing content to the NBA's portfolio of social and digital product offerings. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for identifying new technology that will enhance the NBA's content offering across all platforms and is an expert in content creation and distribution across digital products.

 

You will not only work with our existing partners and vendors, but will proactively research and identify new technology and tools. The candidate will also need to understand content management systems for both digital and social platforms and what is needed to provide a best-in-class content experience for fans across the NBA's portfolio of digital and social destinations.

 

You must thrive in a fast-paced work environment, be proactive, exhibit strong awareness of content monetization trends, sound work ethic with an aptitude for team collaboration and communication. The ideal candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NBA and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards or consuming short and long form content about the NBA.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new technology and tools
  • Manage the relationships and agreements with new and existing content vendors
  • Deploy new tools and oversee onboarding and training
  • Collaborate with product development team on all integrations
  • Collaborate with the social media team on content creation workflow enhancements

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3-4+ years of experience managing technology partners and vendors
  • Previous experience working with platforms such as WSC, Greenfly, etc.
  • Previous experience working with content management systems for both digital and social platforms
  • Previous experience publishing or distributing content for mobile app, website, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Snapchat and other emerging platforms is recommended
  • Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks in a composed and timely manner
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Diplomatic mindset and proven ability to work well in a team environment and across a matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of the NBA at an expert level, and is passionate about the storylines surroundings its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings and history of the league, as well as excellent understanding of basketball stats and analytics, the rules of the game and the history of the game
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the NBA calendar
  • Must be a team player who can work collaboratively
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field preferred
