Senior Digital Product Analyst - Product Analytics

Position Summary:

The NBA's Digital Direct to Consumer team's mission is to bring the world courtside by providing the NBA experience for everyone, everywhere. The group creates and manages digital products that extend the league's global reach, from mobile applications to virtual reality experiences. Globally, the group also delivers live games and exclusive content through NBA League Pass directly to fans on the web, mobile, and connected devices, and develops strategies for distributing content with our global regional offices and partners. In this role, you will help drive the next phase of growth for the NBA's digital product portfolio. Your focus will be on enabling better data-driven decision-making through analytics for the group of product and strategy teams focused on increasing engagement, retention, and revenue across our web and mobile properties. You will build foundational analyses of the user journey through our products to drive awareness and consensus while also establishing baselines and set goals. You will also work directly with product managers to help them understand the product performance and the impact of product updates through impact modeling and cohort analysis. In conjunction with product managers and marketers, you will help design and implement A/B and multivariate tests to impact our core metrics. Lastly, you will convey insights in actionable ways that can influence strategic decision-making and prioritization for our management team. Major Responsibility:

  • Manage data-driven strategies to drive the growth of NBA users and subscribers through innovative product features, content initiatives, and marketing/communication efforts
  • Conduct analysis of product performance to draw insights that drive critical decision-making and to uncover user/subscriber patterns of engagement
  • Explore and analyze user journeys from acquisition through conversion and retention
  • Lead the team's impact modeling and forecasting efforts
  • Drive A/B and multivariate testing strategies with product, content, and marketing leads
  • Design, build and maintain visual dashboards to track key initiatives and enable self-service data discovery and help communicate findings across the company
  • Provide strategic recommendations to product managers, designers, business strategy, and marketing leads based on analysis of our products
  • Help to lead measurement and data collection efforts across our digital products, which may include working with external partners to resolve questions, inconsistencies, and/or obtain missing data
  • Work with data engineers to help build the analytics layer of our team's data environment

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role focused on digital experiences (mobile, web, video, commerce/subscription)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis, deliver actionable insights, and work directly with stakeholders to implement and measure recommended actions
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or Python or R
  • Experience working in a cloud-based data environment
  • Experience building statistical models and running regressions
  • Practical expertise with leading product/marketing analysis software tools (preferably Adobe Analytics) and a willingness and ability to combine internal and external methods to gather and analyze data
  • Strong working knowledge of best in class data visualization tools like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
  • Understanding of digital data architecture and workflows
  • Experience working with digital products / digital subscription products preferred
  • Technology-savvy with an understanding of evolving media and content landscape and trends
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills Knowledge of basketball and a passion for the NBA and sports is helpful and welcome

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree
