WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.
Position Summary:
This position is part of the NBA Social & Digital Content team which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners throughout the world. As the demand for content on the NBA's social platforms continues to grow, this is your opportunity to grow with us in a fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment, reaching over 100M fans on social/digital around the world. The ideal candidate is well versed on how to create/curate content optimized for social and digital platforms in a vertical, mobile landscape. They are an expert creator who regularly makes unique content for vertical video platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snap Spotlight and more. Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NBA and is knowledgeable in podcasts, message boards and consuming short and long form content about the NBA.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the NBA Social/Digital team's on-site coverage strategy by:
- Working with multiple departments to execute on-site social strategy, which may include editing, organizing and disseminating footage
- Creating and obtaining approval on edited content to uphold the NBA brand identity and voice
- Developing content plans through creative ideation with an output focus
- Assist with content planning and development of content about players, teams, games, events and more across all NBA Social/Digital platforms
- Actively communicating with publishers and platform leads on content ideas, trends, plans, etc. to ensure an efficient content pipeline
- Maintaining coverage tracking docs, as well as potentially tracking data
- Assist in refining processes for on-site workflows
- Constantly researching new trends and opportunities for the NBA to create innovative and unique vertical storytelling content through on-site content ○ May also include capturing events and games, as well as other team/player access points
Skills/Knowledge:
- 1-2 years of experience creating for social media platforms
- Experience turning around content in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, formats and what engages on them
- Strong knowledge of basketball and the NBA, its teams and its players
- Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in content workflows
Salary Range: $2,307.69/biweekly
