Position Summary:

This position will create stories and handle content publishing, vertical video, messaging and copy editing for the NBA App.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Support content publishing within the NBA’s suite of digital products via story building and copyediting
  • Create & maintain a content messaging calendar for the NBA App, including timing, targeting, segmentation, reporting, and analysis
  • Write copy for notifications, both in real-time during games & recurring for features, that will drive fan engagement within the NBA App
  • Identify elements and potential storylines from NBA live games and tentpole events throughout the season
  • Passion for curating and publishing video, photo, statistical, and editorial content that also works in tandem with a strong alerts strategy, optimized for open rate and active user engagement
  • Active participant in content planning for all league's digital & social platforms

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the NBA’s digital platforms, including the NBA App, NBA.com, and NBA League Pass
  • Background in digital, social with copy-editing experience required
  • Strong writing and communication skills, as well as ability to execute editorial judgment
  • Basic knowledge of Content Management Systems
  • Ability and willingness to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must have expertise and proven ability to grow engagement through the usage of alerts 
  • Must have expertise with messaging platforms, audience segmentation, and best practices for delivery, frequency, and overall alerts strategy
  • Experience using Braze is a plus
  • Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the NBA and their players, coaches, and teams
  • Knowledge of basketball analytics and the rules of the game

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Communications or related field preferred

 

Salary Range:

  • $1,153.85 per week
