Position Summary: The Facilites Operations Lead manages day-to-day facilities activities of the NBA NJ league office. Provides support to ensure standards for maintenance best practices are met and standardized across the NBA NY and NJ league offices. Participates in department goals and projects as required. Implements standard operating procedures that enhance a safe, comfortable, reliable, and productive physical work environment, all the while ensuring its provided with 5 Star customer service to all employees.


Major Responsibility:

  • Engages in continuous quality and process improvement initiatives across all facets of facilities management where you will formulate and establish goals, direction that are aligned to those of the department
  • Performs routine office inspections and drives continuous upkeep of building common areas, technical areas, and office space Supports all areas of facilities management for the NJ League office including but not limited to, maintenance, facilities engineering, janitorial, and capital improvements
  • Maintains and develops policies and procedures for department operations and maintains control of documents, i.e. standards in customer service, performance and productivity, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, process documentation etc.
  • Leads and oversees our 3rd party vendors to develop and execute strategic departmental plans and leads all day to day facility maintenance related activities (i.e. maintenance and repair, facilities engineering)
  • Directs and challenges in-house maintenance and engineering team to self-perform whenever possible
  • Manages maintenance MOP / SOP program with 3rd party vendors (ensures development, maintaining adherence to program, and control of documents)
  • Develops reporting metrics for all areas of facilities management to ensure a high degree of accountability for all vendors and services
  • Holds 3rd party vendors accountable for timely and successful delivery of services ensuring no interruptions to business activities
  • Leverages technology and develops data analytics to drive decision making (including use and implementation of CMMS)
  • Partners with department leadership to resolve and establish work priorities and resource needs
  • Collects vendor bids, reviews invoicing, and reports impacts for operating budget planning
  • Supports capital improvement project planning including scope, design reviews and implementation
  • Contributes to continuing to build an open environment that is responsive to employee/customers' concerns, issues, and input
  • Act as a main point of contact for NJ league office landlord coordination items and COI requirements Special projects as assigned by department management


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience in a high-profile dynamic company preferred.
  • Understanding of facility related functions, including but not limited to, HVAC maintenance, electrical, and plumbing services, establishing facility procedures, leading vendors and scheduling facility coverage
  • You are an ambitious self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to facilitate consensus
  • You are comfortable with proposing new ideas among various internal partners and business units
  • Establish and encourage a departmental culture of support, execution and results Knowledgeable and proficient in all common business computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, own issue resolution, anticipate customer needs, service oriented, change goals and direction quickly; prioritize, take initiative and multitask; excellent oral/written communication, provides information in a clear/concise manner
  • Handle workload and meet deadlines; validated ability to interact effectively with strong personalities and all levels of employees including senior executives.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice; flexible with work schedule and can respond to/coordinate the Facility Departments response to facility emergencies



  • 5+ years of relevant management experience and/ or college degree preferred
