Position Summary:

This position is part of the NBA Emerging Media group which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing and publishing content for the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Identifying elements and potential storylines from NBA, WNBA, NBA 2K and G League live games and tentpole events throughout the season from the NBA's Content Command Center (This could include nights and weekends)
  • Creating content targeted for NBA social and digital platforms including video, photo and graphics editing, as well as written content
  • Tagging behind-the-scenes footage and historical footage in the NBA's digital archive
  • Researching and introducing new content ideas for NBA, WNBA, NBA 2K and G League social and digital platforms
  • Actively participating in content planning for all league's social and digital platforms


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the NBA, WNBA, NBA 2K and G League and their players, coaches, and teams
  • Background in digital, social, photos and graphics production/editing or video content production
  • Strong writing and communication skills, as well as ability to execute editorial judgment
  • Experience with creating branded and sponsored content for external clients
  • Strong knowledge of and active use of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects
  • Ability and willingness to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail oriented approach
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team
  • At Least 2-3 years of editing experience on Final Cut or Adobe Premiere Reel required
  • Experience creating content across multiple social platforms
  • Experience working in Sports/Entertainment Industry



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Communications, Television Production, Sports Management or related field
