Position Summary:

The NBA is looking for a Digital Project Manager who is passionate about Fantasy & Gaming products. You will work on a team to create outstanding digital experiences for NBA basketball fans worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for defining product user stories, identifying technical and operational improvements necessary to deliver a compelling user experience that drives the NBA's business. You will need to use product performance data, consumer insights and research to develop features that grow, convert and retain fans and subscribers. Working within a larger Product team, you will collaborate closely with internal and external design, development, and quality assurance teams as well as internal business partners to execute the delivery of our product roadmap.


We bring the world courtside by providing the NBA experience for everyone, everywhere! We build digital products that extend the league’s global reach, from mobile applications to virtual reality experiences. The NBA is the most popular sports league on social media, and the Digital Media team handles all of the league’s social platforms. Globally, we work with our regional offices to develop strategies for distribution, and we also deliver live games and outstanding content directly to fans through our product NBA League Pass.


The Digital Media Product and Emerging Technology team’s mission is to deliver extraordinary experiences that fans love and to grow the number of fans who use our products every day. We develop a product strategy that advocates for the fan and the NBA’s business and is based on a deep understanding of consumer insights, data, and research.


Major Responsibilities:

Conceive new product ideas in the Fantasy & Gaming space. Establish product/project charters outlining the scope, technical requirements, UX flows, goals, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, budget and timing. Partner with internal and external third-party business, development, design and technology teams. Lead overall quality of released product. Resolve project issues through direct action when necessary. Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users and produce project documentation. Monitor and analyze data to model the impact of new features and functionality based on critical metrics. Devise clear, relevant and testable experiments that lead to product improvements. Maintain a strong sense of design and drive wireframe/prototype concepts. Learn about and advocate for the user, gathering and sharing insights and best practices. Communicate regularly with senior executive team.


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 2-3+ years experience in product management with a consistent record of delivering successful consumer-facing products
  • Technology-savvy with a deep understanding of evolving gaming and content landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and motivate, cross-functional teams comprised of both internal and external product, design, development and QA resources
  • Solid understanding of JIRA and product management tools
  • Strong knowledge of API frameworks
  • Experience working with analytics and measurement software tools coupled with strong data analysis skills
  • Experience working with free-to-play fantasy games
  • Ability to concisely summarize complex issues and make clear, compelling recommendations
  • Strong ability to translate product needs to technology/engineering and the business
  • Strong project management skills with a consistent track record of setting and delivering on expectations and commitments
  • Knowledge of basketball and a passion for the NBA and sports



  • CS/Engineering or equivalent degree preferred; BA/BS required
