Digital Product Analyst, Product Analytics & Growth

Position Summary:

The NBA's Digital Direct to Consumer team's mission is to bring the world courtside by providing the NBA experience for everyone, everywhere. The group creates and manages digital products that extend the league's global reach, from mobile applications to virtual reality experiences. Globally, the group also delivers live games and exclusive content through NBA League Pass directly to fans on web, mobile and connected devices, and develops strategies for distributing content with our global regional offices and partners. In this role, you will help drive the next phase of growth for the NBA's digital product portfolio. Your focus will be on enabling better data-driven decision-making through analytics for the group of product and strategy teams focused on increasing engagement, retention and revenue across our web and mobile properties. You will work directly with product managers to identify KPIs for launches and help build measurement strategies to properly collect data with solution architects and front-end engineers. You will also analyze product performance based on established KPIs, conduct funnel and user pathing analysis to understand user behavior, and build dashboards and reports to help product owners and other stakeholders monitor changes. Additionally, you will convey insights in actionable ways that can influence strategic decision-making and prioritization for our management team. Major Responsibility:

  • Contribute data-driven strategies to drive the growth of NBA users and subscribers through innovative product features, content initiatives, and marketing/communication efforts
  • Conduct analysis of product performance to draw insights that drive critical decision-making and to uncover user/subscriber patterns of engagement
  • Design, build and maintain visual dashboards to track key initiatives and enable self-service data discovery and help communicate findings across the company
  • Provide strategic recommendations to product managers, designers, business strategy, and marketing leads based on analysis of our products
  • Help to lead measurement and data collection efforts across our digital products, which may include working with external partners to resolve questions, inconsistencies, and/or obtain missing data


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role focused on digital experiences (mobile, web, video, commerce/subscription)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis, deliver actionable insights, and work directly with stakeholders to implement and measure recommended actions
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python or R
  • Practical expertise with leading product/marketing analysis software tools (preferably Adobe Analytics) and a willingness and ability to combine internal and external methods to gather and analyze data
  • Strong working knowledge of best in class data visualization tools like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI Understanding of digital data architecture and workflows
  • Experience working with subscription products preferred Technology-savvy with an understanding of evolving media and content landscape and trends
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basketball and a passion for the NBA and sports is helpful and welcome
