Position Summary:

The Special Initiatives Lead, Content will lead strategic and operational initiatives for the NBA's Social, Digital and Original Content group. This position will be responsible for strategic, commercial, and financial evaluation and implementation of a broad range of business initiatives for the content group across the NBA, WNBA, G League and NBA 2K League. These include strategic planning for the group, organizational initiatives, identifying new revenue or business opportunities, and driving internal communications for the group.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Lead strategic and business planning for the content group
  • Develop metrics for group success and implement process to measure
  • Drive team culture and organizational effectiveness
  • Represent content group with senior stakeholders in both written and in-person communications
  • Oversee financial and business analysis Identify new business opportunities for the group
  • Manage a small team to perform the above responsibilities
  • Coordinate diverse project teams and exhibit best-practice project management skills
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical rigor on a range of business initiatives

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 8+ years of corporate strategy, management consulting or media business experience
  • Expert project and client management skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the sports media landscape, including emerging business models
  • An interest in and experience with non-live sports content
  • Managerial experience preferred

 

Education: Bachelor's degree from a top-tier school preferred MBA or other advanced degree preferred
