Position Overview:

With the exciting and exponential growth of the WNBA, and an increase in digital and social content, there is the opportunity to lead content planning at the W. The position will work closely with the Head of Content and content leads to sharpen daily coverage operations and cross-platform integration, planning and coordination. They will help establish workflows while working closely with creative operations on asset management, review and delivery. The ideal candidate will have an obsession for accuracy, organization and process implementation – always aiming for stronger communication and collaboration across stakeholders and recognizing its critical impact on the success and growth of unique and innovative storytelling. 

 

This is a historical time for the WNBA, and as a sports league, no day will be the same. So the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative will be critical, but met with opportunity to help grow the future of women’s sports.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • With the head of content help build strategy and process for content management and planning across digital, social and original content
  • Create and lead processes around quality control
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes and documentation for content planning including major tentpoles
  • In partnership with content leads, manage, organize and enforce content schedule and calendars 
  • Work with social, digital, digital and branded teams on publishing calendar and cross-collaboration
  • Partner with creative ops on implementing workback schedules and content briefs and plans
  • Work closely with creative operations and design team on asset review and delivery, ensuring quality assurance and accuracy across content
  • Work with internal teams to contribute to ideation for unique video, photo and graphic content that can serve multi-platform storytelling
  • Assist with publishing on WNBA social and digital platforms when needed        
  • Work closely with insights team on timing and delivery of content reporting

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3—6 years’ experience in content with particular focus on content planning and management and demonstrated experience managing a concept from ideation to execution
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about the WNBA and its players, coaches, and teams
  • Deeply knowledgeable about social and digital media production, planning and platforms and how to create content for each 
  • Ability to work on the deadlines that come with live sports and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach 
  • Unmatched organization and communication skills 
  • Obsession to details and commitment to accuracy and standard of excellence in content creation
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position will include nights and weekends based on the WNBA calendar  
  • Must be a team player who can work collaboratively 
  • Strong expertise with project management platform such as Asana, Trello or Airtable and developing and implementing management processes
  • Ability to share ideas and plans throughout the organization and with external partners
     

 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
