Position Summary
The Technology & Platform Strategy Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the NBA’s marketing and growth initiatives by enabling targeted customer segmentation and optimizing data integration across our marketing and advertising technology platforms. This role will be critical in using fan data from Snowflake, pushing it into tools like Braze for targeted emails and push notifications, and integrating with advertising platforms such as Google and Facebook. Additionally, this role will support the collection of marketing attribution data from our Mobile Marketing Platform (MMP), providing insights to optimize campaigns across NBA League Pass, the NBA App, and NBA ID. The ideal candidate thrives on cross-functional collaboration, partnering with Data Strategy, Direct-to-Consumer, Global Partnerships & Media, Marketing, Legal, and Engineering teams. You will leverage your expertise in digital marketing, data analysis, and AdTech/MarTech to solve complex problems and drive results.
Major Responsibilities
• Apply subject matter expertise to design and execute performance marketing strategies that accelerate customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
• Collaborate with the Direct-to-Consumer Team to identify opportunities for improving League Pass acquisition, reducing churn, and increasing fan engagement.
• Lead the development and application of customer segmentation models, leveraging Snowflake and Braze to deliver personalized emails, push notifications, and in-app messaging.
• Optimize the use of first-party and zero-party data to inform marketing and audience segmentation strategies.
• Ensure fan data from Snowflake is seamlessly onboarded to advertising platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook) for paid media activation.
• Partner with the Global Partnerships & Media team to develop strategies for external partner data collaboration and lead the execution of these projects.
• Manage marketing attribution efforts by integrating data from MMP to measure and optimize marketing effectiveness across NBA League Pass, the NBA App, and NBA ID.
• Oversee the implementation and management of Clean Room data sharing technology to ensure privacy compliance and effective collaboration with external partners.
• Conduct data overlap analysis, segmentation, audience development, and media activation in collaboration with external partners.
• Manage a team of Data Fulfillment Analysts to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of marketing data.
• Stay informed of the latest trends in marketing/ad technology, marketing operations, and data privacy compliance to ensure the NBA remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
Required Education/Professional Experience
• 6+ years of experience working in AdTech, product operations, product management, or a technical marketing operations capacity
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Managerial experience required
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes
• Experience with CRM platform technology and data structures
• Intermediate SQL skills
• Knowledge of clean room technology and data onboarding
• Expert at problem-solving and critical thinking
• Ability to successfully navigate cross-functional teams and prioritize across competing needs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000
