Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics (Paid)

While Basketball Operations runs the league’s on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA’s success.

 

Position Summary: This role will be critical for measuring the effectiveness of paid media marketing initiatives. This role will lead measurement planning, reporting and analysis for Marketing Paid Media Initiatives including, but not limited to: digital advertising across Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, Google Search, linear TV advertisements and influencers. The role is part of an exciting and growing Marketing team with the mission to discover, inspire and engage fans across the world.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Design measurement plan to monitor and optimize marketing performance KPIs 
  • Partner with Fan Marketing and Research to optimize campaign execution 
  • Develop A/B testing framework for marketing campaigns 
  • Design the roadmap for integration of data into decision-making lifecycle
  • Take ownership of priorities and ensure that the Marketing Analytics team delivers results on time
  • Developing a rich understanding of our fans and KPIs, by diving deep into data
  • Segmenting fans to focus on our most engaged users and to up-level others
  • Design and build best in class real time dashboards to monitor campaign performance
  • Act as the day-to-day contact for paid campaign marketing analysis across Marketing Ops, Product, Fan Marketing, Creative and Business Unit partners

 

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in marketing analytics, working with large, differentiated data sets within varying industries preferred
  • Experience with DART/Doubleclick/Marin/Kenshoo
  • Experience with Facebook/Twitter/DSP/Affiliate platforms preferred
  • Experience in querying and manipulating data sets using SQL, Python and visualization tools like Tableau (or similar tools)
  • Familiar with statistical methods and A/B testing
  • Enthusiastic about NBA and working in sports
  • Strong organizational, analytical, meeting management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

 

Education:

  • BA/BS required
  • CS/Business/Engineering or equivalent degree preferred
