Position Summary
The Global Compensation Team is responsible for developing fair and competitive pay programs and job structures to facilitate the attraction and retention of talent in all the markets where the NBA conducts business. The group is primarily responsible for the development of a pay philosophy that attracts, engages, and retains our employees and align pay practices with overall business and departmental initiatives. The team works across all markets and lines of business to create short and long incentive programs that are regulatory compliant and drive employee and organizational performance. 

 

Job Summary
The Senior Compensation Analyst acts as the primary analytical resource for the NBA’s compensation consulting projects, programs, and reporting. The role also serves as a supporting Compensation Partner for select NBA business units and will work with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Compensation Leads to deliver solutions and education to internal business clients.


Major Responsibilities

•    Provide analytical support on compensation consulting projects, programs, and reporting. Lead budget modeling for the salary administration and bonus processes. Build tools and models to help inform leadership decisions in the compensation space. 
•    Serve as a day-to-day point of contact with our compensation survey vendors. Participate in relevant salary surveys and pulse reports. The Senior Compensation Analyst is expected to stay informed on the latest market trends and best practices, and to share and educate peers on their findings.
•    Make proactive recommendations to address any gaps between employees and the market. The role may be asked to perform bespoke competitive analyses for the groups that it supports. Supports the execution and presentation of pay equity analyses.  
•    Perform job evaluations to ensure that the job architecture is applied consistently across the global organization. Manage the development and maintenance of the architecture and salary structures, including owning the salary range process and strategy.
•    Administer executive contracts and assist with the relevant executive reporting, including periodic executive benchmarking.

 

Required Education/Professional Experience

•    5-7+ years' experience in relevant work experience 
•    Advanced proficiency in Excel, including building analyses and models.
•    Expertise in leveraging R and Python for statistical analysis preferred.  
•    Proficiency in Power Point and MS Word applications.
•    Ability to prioritize effectively, while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to multi-task with an exceptional attention to detail.
•    Comfortability solving complex and ambiguous problems.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes
•    Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills are crucial for a Senior Compensation Analyst. You should be comfortable working with large data sets, conducting statistical analyses, and using data visualization tools to interpret and present findings. Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis software is often required.
•    Attention to Detail: As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you must pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in job evaluations, data analysis, and compensation program design. Small errors or oversights can have significant consequences, so a keen eye for detail is essential.
•    Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for a Senior Compensation Analyst. You need to convey compensation-related information clearly and confidently to various stakeholders, including employees, managers, and executives. Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for preparing reports, delivering presentations, and addressing queries.
•    Compliance: A solid understanding of human resources practices, policies, and legal compliance is necessary. You should be familiar with relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that compensation programs align with legal requirements and internal policies.
•    Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will encounter complex compensation issues and challenges. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are necessary to analyze situations, identify options, evaluate trade-offs, and develop innovative solutions.
•    Organizational and Time Management Skills: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines is essential. Strong organizational and time management skills will help you handle the workload effectively and deliver high-quality work within specified timelines.

 

Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000
