WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.
Position Summary:
This position will support the NBA’s Team Finance Department. This role’s primary job responsibility is to assist with ticket and financial reporting procedures. An ideal candidate is a current accounting, finance, or sports management upperclassman graduate student, or recent graduate. This role is 10-month assignment. The time requirement will be approximately 32-40 hours a week.
Major Responsibilities:
• Assist with gate and season ticket reporting processes for the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League including acting as the point of contact for team and league personnel.
• Review ticket reports and team reported data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to League reporting standards.
• Coordinate with IT and Data Strategy & Analytics (DSA) group to build, enhance, and review the various League gate and season ticket reports.
• Collaborate on cross-departmental projects incorporating information from the League Finance group.
• Manage the ongoing communications with teams related to various financial matters.
• Create presentations and assist with logistical planning as needed.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.
Required Education/Professional Experience:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics or related business field
• Experience in an accounting, finance or related business role
• Experience in the professional sports, entertainment, media or service industry preferred
• Graduate education or professional certification in a related field is a plus
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
• High proficiency with Excel and Word
• Extremely detail-oriented, sensitive to numbers, and be able to read behind the numbers
• Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines
• Highly organized, able to be an effective project manager
• Strong teamwork, task prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive willingness to help
Salary Range: $28.00 - $30.00/hr
