Group Summary:
The Global Media Insights team is the NBA's internal media research group which works across multiple departments within the league office to help inform key stakeholders on the viewership landscape and trends. As the Project Employee, Global Media Insights Analyst, you will be an integral member of the Global Media Insights team, helping to serve a diverse portfolio of internal stakeholders. You will be expected to analyze and interpret media research data and turn them into actionable insights which will help inform key tactical and strategic initiatives across the NBA. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting NBA game and tentpole event performances
  • Pull viewership analytics from a variety of sources in order to provide data-driven intelligence 
  • Analyze, interpret and craft stories on viewing patterns, national/local markets, trends and competitors, etc.
  • Provide support and act as a back-up for the other Global Media Insights team members
  • Be able to respond nimbly to ad-hoc requests from a variety of key stakeholders
  • Communicate complex, data-driven insights in a clear and compelling manner via slides, reports, dashboards and/or emails 
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Nielsen’s methodology and systems
  • Know and understand the competitive landscape and trends within the TV landscape
  • Perform quality assurance checks on all internal and external reports
  • Contribute to maintenance and expansion of insights tools and systems for usage of the wider business

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 1-3 years of experience Media/TV audience research experience
  • Required to have experience with TV research data analytic tools, such as Npower, NNTV and/or NLTV 
  • A working knowledge of third-party software systems (Star Media, ComScore, Lake5, Google Analytics, iSpot, Adobe Analytics) is a plus
  • Strategic problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Be a storyteller - know how to turn data into actionable, strategic insights
  • Must be numbers savvy
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and internal clients
  • Be able to multi-task while meeting deadlines
  • Have a passion for sports, media and data

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative field

 

Salary Range: $2,885/Biweekly
