Reporting to the WNBA Business Development Lead this position will support the WNBA’s sponsorship sales efforts with the goal of growing the league’s partner roster, optimizing sales processes, and driving commercial opportunities through the sale of large-scale, integrated marketing partnerships.
 
Major Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue for the WNBA by prospecting, developing, and selling integrated marketing partnerships that incorporate WNBA IP, media, events, and other benefits/opportunities
  • Assist with developing and delivering customized presentations and proposals for prospects
  • Serve as a WNBA subject matter expert cross-functionally and a key liaison between WNBA and multi-property business development teams to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Optimize business development organizational processes by maintaining CRM, pipeline reporting and tracking documents, identifying need for new or updated sales materials, and ensuring timely creation of pitches and proposals
  • Support relationship management with external vendors and agencies who support WNBA business development processes
  • Maintain deep knowledge of sponsorship activity in priority categories and have a finger on the pulse of emerging categories
  • Identify/qualify prospects and conduct outreach to senior-level marketing decision makers
  • Support the negotiation process for partnership agreements
  • Build and support relationships within the sports marketing and agency world

 

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or partnerships at a league, team, or agency
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
