While Basketball Operations runs the league’s on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA’s success.

 

Position Summary:

The NBA is looking for a Project Employee to support the Global Fan Marketing team from June  through the end of December. The Project Employee will support the development & activation of marketing campaigns & programs that deliver a consistent, seamless, fan-centric experience across all channels and drive business outcomes across markets, including tune-in, viewership, tentpoles, app downloads, subscriptions and merchandising. The role is part of an exciting and growing Marketing team at the NBA with the mission to discover, inspire and engage fans across the world.

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support Global Fan Marketing team in building out integrated marketing plans and creating campaign overviews & presentations that incorporate multi-channel platforms such as TV, out-of-home, print ads, email, SEM, social, and paid media. 
  • Manage 360° integrated fan marketing development, planning and calendars across different platforms (e.g., Asana)
  • Support season-long and tentpole budget management across the Global Fan Marketing team
  • Support agency partner relationships (e.g., promotional agency) that bring elements of global marketing campaigns to life for key fan segments and that help broader awareness, elevate our brand and engage fans.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders across domestic & regional markets (Canada, LATAM, Africa, EME, China, Asia Pacific and India) to ensure all elements of integrated marketing plans are captured in overview documents & presentations
  • Work across Global Fan Marketing team and cross-functional teams to develop summary presentations that reflect Go To Market plans
  • Track performance of key metrics that align with business objectives

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 0-2 years experience in Marketing executing fan-centric multi-channel digital campaigns and programs
  • Strong project management skills to support coordination across marketing campaigns.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator who can clearly convey marketing campaigns,  strategies, tactics, rationale and results, to peers, partners and agencies
  • Consumer and content marketing experience a plus
  • A solutions-oriented problem solver that is results-driven and metrics oriented
  • Also essential are energy, enthusiasm and ability to collaborate well across the group & broader organization
  • Expertise with PowerPoint/Slides and Excel/Sheets a plus
  • Experience working with Asana or other project management platforms a bonus
  • Photoshop skills a bonus
