Position Summary: 

We are looking for an email marketing expert to assist with the NBA’s email marketing program, as part of the Digital, Growth & Media team within our Global Marketing Department. Using the email channel, our team’s focus is to deepen and maintain fan engagement, as well as drive revenue using data-driven analytics and compelling, personalized content.

 

As an Email Marketing Solutions Manager, you would be responsible for helping to coordinate the email marketing calendar and asset delivery process with various business and vendors, assisting on email targeting and data requests, analyzing email performance and pulling reports, as well as helping to provide email solutions on ad hoc projects and requests. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day email marketing calendar
  • Triage email requests across various business units within the NBA
  • Work with multiple production teams on asset delivery and setup
  • Modify existing documentation as needed
  • Provide training on email tools
  • Help manage various email vendors
  • Assist in creating email filters/SQLs for targeting
  • Advise on data handling and business logic for key projects
  • Be the "go-to" for ESP-specific questions
  • Pull email performance metrics and provide insights
  • Partner with data analytics team for business intelligence reporting needs
  • Maintain relationships with internal Global Partnerships, Creative, International, and Data Engineering teams

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3-4 years email marketing experience
  • Knowledge of Responsys or Braze preferred, or similar Email Service Provider
  • Excellent understanding of email execution concepts and metrics; deliverability; best practices
  • Strong understanding of data management and data exchange concepts
  • Expertise in email compliance and privacy legislation, both domestic and international (specifically: CAN-SPAM; GDPR; CASL)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills Intermediate working knowledge of HTML
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and within a cross-functional team

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
