Position Summary:

The Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO) Department is a unique in-house consulting group within the NBA league office that strives to drive best practices and innovation across over 90 NBA, WNBA, G League, and 2K teams. The primary focus of this fast-paced and collaborative department is on all aspects of business operations, including ticket sales and service, partnerships, marketing and digital. TMBO is seeking a dynamic, intellectually curious, organized individual to join a team of talented professionals. This role within the Team Partnership Development department will be responsible for managing the day to day relationships with select teams from all 4 leagues in support of their partnerships business. This analyst will also produce activation case studies and other partnership training tools as resources for teams.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Identify, design and develop case studies, webinars, white papers and other best practice training tools for partnerships sales, strategy and activation departments across the NBA, WNBA, G League and 2K League.
  • Interpret team and league data in order to advise partnerships teams on areas of opportunity across platforms, categories and inventory.
  • Own a strong understanding of the team marketing guidelines in order to provide guidance and direction to our teams as it relates to activation executions. This also includes reviewing, approving and tracking certain categories of activations to ensure compliance with team marketing guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison between TMBO, Affiliate League leadership and NBA Global Marketing Partnerships in order to maintain a cohesive strategy and develop platforms for league-wide partnerships that could be executed at the team level.
  • Advise on the direction of topics and content for league workshops and presentations.
  • Assist with agenda design, presentation and follow-up for team conference calls.
  • Opportunity to contribute to other special projects as assigned

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Partnerships internship or 1-2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Brand, agency and/or team experience a plus
  • Solid understanding of the partnerships sales process and activation practices
  • Strong writing skills to produce content and documents that are clear and concise
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management, and organization skills
  • Attention to detail, a must
  • Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing sales proposals and/or presentations
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter
     

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing preferred or relevant experience
