Position Summary:

 

This role is responsible for setting the pricing and planning of assets under the NBA Media sales portfolio. The position will work closely across the Global Partnerships team and finance teams, and a myriad of internal departments across the NBA.

 


Major Responsibilities

 

  • Focus on driving yield through effective pricing and inventory forecasting across the NBA-owned & operated portfolio.
  • Manage forecasting and reporting needs across media assets, including media revenue pacing and analysis to senior management.
  • This lead will gain weekly alignment on estimates with research and insights teams to manage media sales and ad product issues
  • Designate market rates and manage sell-through levels across digital and linear with the needs of the business.
  • Possess the ability to detect trends in the marketplace to identify new cross-platform pricing and packaging strategies.
  • Create, track, and facilitate the implementation of digital media plans for NBA Partners and the overall marketplace
  • Collaborate with Finance, Ad product, Ad ops, and Sales to control inventory flow, ad formats, assignment, and pricing in line with the NBA’s financial goals
  • Partner with 3rd party Operations/ Sales teams to improve monetization of digital media assets within VOD and Display inventory
  • Partner with Research, Product & Technology teams on enhancements that improve our ability to execute and deliver on media campaigns across the portfolio.

 

Required Education/Professional Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a focus on sales strategy across linear and digital platforms.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

 

  • Strong understanding of the media sales environment with a focus on alternative ad models and multi-platform packaging.
  • Experience leading a team with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Must have good financial and analytical skills and be adept at prioritizing in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in category analysis, asset development, and financial planning.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and deliver a collaborative approach to the business issues at hand.

 

Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000
