Position Summary:

The Corporate Strategy Lead role within the Global Strategy & Innovation group's Strategic Initiatives & Operations function, is a position responsible for driving the NBA's strategic direction across the NBA, WNBA, G League, NBA 2K League, and BAL. This leadership includes stewarding alignment on the NBA's biggest priorities, mobilizing the measurement of key performance metrics, and prioritizing key projects to achieve the NBA's goals. This role will take an insights-driven approach to understanding the NBA's long-term growth opportunities and business operations critical to the NBA's global success. This individual will work with business leaders across domestic and international markets to align on strategic direction and communicate agreed upon priorities to the organization.

 

Major Responsibility:

  • Lead the annual goal-setting function at the NBA including organization-wide performance measurement
  • Partner with business unit leaders to set department-level objectives
  • Collaborate with diverse project teams and exhibit best-practice project management skills
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical rigor to corporate, strategic initiatives
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of senior internal constituents

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of professional experience, preferably at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or corporate strategy group in media/entertainment or other relevant industry
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with senior executives both inside and outside the organization
  • Proactive, self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented approach
  • Experience working and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Sports, Entertainment, Media and Technology industries preferred

 

Education:

BA/BS degree or relevant experience preferred

MBA or other advanced degree preferred
