Position Summary:
The Corporate Strategy Lead role within Finance is a position responsible for leading the department’s Corporate Strategy function. This includes responsibility for the Corporate Strategy framework and processes across the league as well as management of key projects critical to the NBA’s overall success. The Corporate Strategy framework and processes include the identification and communication of league-wide Priority Areas and Key Metrics, management and coordination of Business Reviews, and responsibility for other critical systems to establish, communicate, evaluate, and review the NBA’s strategic objectives and business performance. Management of key projects includes leading the strategic, commercial, and financial evaluation and / or implementation of a broad range of high-priority business initiatives across the NBA, WNBA, G League, and / or NBA 2K League. This individual will report directly to the Global Head of League Finance and work with business leaders across the organization to execute these responsibilities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the identification, communication, and review of Priority Areas and Key Metrics across the league
- Lead cross-functional projects focused on high-priority areas and long-term growth
- Partner with business unit leaders to identify key priority areas and / or execute top strategic projects
- Collaborate with diverse project teams and exhibit best-practice project management skills
- Provide thought leadership and analytical rigor on a range of business priorities and initiatives
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of senior internal and external constituents
- Serve as an effective manager and mentor to one or more junior Corporate Strategy Analysts
Required Education/Professional Experience:
- BA/BS degree or relevant experience preferred
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of professional experience, preferably at a strategy consulting firm, investment bank or corporate strategy in media / entertainment

- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with high aptitude for ‘storytelling’
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented approach
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with senior executives both inside and outside the organization
- Experience working and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Proactive, self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
- Knowledge of Sports, Entertainment, Media and Technology industries preferred
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills
- Ability to spot issues and manage risk
Salary Range: $185,000 - $200,000
