Position Summary:
This position is part of the Fan Acquisition and Engagement team at the WNBA, dedicated to digital growth and engagement. The CRM Lifecycle Lead will adopt a “fan-first” mindset and be responsible for developing global lifecycle marketing campaigns across multiple CRM channels – including email, in-browser messages, in-app messages, and push notifications. Successful candidates will be able to create and execute comprehensive strategies that drive fan engagement, retention, and Lifetime Value. You should have experience with testing to optimize existing flows and build new flows across all CRM channels. This role will partner with and influence other cross-functional teams including Content, Creative, Partnerships, and more. You will also be directly responsible for managing a direct report who operates the WNBA email and in-browser messaging channel. The ideal candidate would also have a strong knowledge of the WNBA and its fan base.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop an overall vision for CRM channels (email, in-browser module, in-app message, push notifications), communicate the strategy, then execute with in-house channel leads
  • Ideate, implement, and optimize multi-channel lifecycle marketing programs globally for the WNBA App, WNBA League Pass and other Direct-to-Consumer initiatives across CRM channels 
  • Maintain the health of all CRM channels while focusing on bringing in new fans, cultivating fan engagement across products, and re-engagement to reduce overall churn 
  • Leverage fan attributes and behavioral data to ideate audience cohorts, and leverage marketing-technology to create compelling, personalized messages at scale
  • Utilize testing methodology to quickly test, iterate, and push forward the most impactful efforts for increased fan engagement 
  • Directly manage a team member who executes day-to-day operations of email and in-browser channels – including content planning, channel briefs, and execution 
  • Work closely with Partnerships to create sellable assets and integrated marketing opportunities across CRM channels
  • Build relationships across the organization to discuss best practices and help drive each leagues' key goals

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Required Skills + Knowledge:

  • 5+ years in CRM role, with at least 2 years of lifecycle or growth marketing preferred
  • Experience building CRM channels and technology, including familiarity with the full tech stack and functionality (particularly Braze, Wunderkind, Moveable Ink)
  • Experience in marketing automation strategy with real-life examples of successful subscriber, revenue, and engagement growth at scale
  • Advanced understanding of HTML and CSS 
  • Strong understanding of email compliance and privacy legislation practices (specifically: CAN-SPAM; GDPR; CASL; Apple MPP) 
  • Excellent understanding of channel execution concepts and metrics; deliverability; best practices 
  • Data driven analytical thinker who is comfortable diving into data and pulling insights
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced setting 
  • Willingness to take on operations/execution 
  • People management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of WNBA a plus
     

 

Salary Range: [[$95,000 - $110,000]]
