Job Summary:
This position requires a person who has a well-rounded knowledge of broadcast production and operations. This individual will assist in coordinating day-to-day broadcast operations of the NBA affiliate leagues with a primary focus on the WNBA. This person will also support the live production environment and must be able to act independently, with the ability to make reasonable and cognitive decisions.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute WNBA broadcasts and streams, including consultation on production methods, formatting, and equipment needs
  • Provide nightly technical support for NBA affiliate leagues
  • Manage digital archive of NBA affiliate leagues
  • Manage the inventory and deployment of broadcast equipment
  • Maintain operational documentation for broadcast partners 
  • Develop and manage on-site relationships with venues & broadcast partners for games
  • Provide production crews with proper elements and content, in order to produce successful broadcasts
  • Support Senior Manager on all operational needs 

 

 

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • College degree in Communications or related field experience
  • 2 - 5 years of broadcast operations experience
  • 2 - 5 years of IP-based video streaming development experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a live broadcast environment


Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of WNBA and other affiliate leagues (NBA G League, Jr. NBA, USAB)
  • Understanding of media encoding server technologies and codecs 
  • Understanding of encoding protocols (AAC, H.264, H.265) and streaming protocols (RTMP, HDS, HLS, DASH)
  • Understanding of Tricaster, 3play, & AJT graphic systems is a plus
  • Availability a rotating schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holiday as well as after office hours, based on business needs
  • Must have strong knowledge of live production
  • Basic understanding of IP networking
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to manage partner relationships
  • Must be self-motivated and organized with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must possess the ability to be a problem solver often under pressure and deadlines as well as being a forward thinker
  • Strong interest in current industry technologies and developments, in an ever-changing environment 

 

Salary Range: $77,500 - $85,000
