WNBA Marketing is in constant evolution and rapid growth mode as the league, its teams, players, partners and fans demand more from the function.
Position Overview:
With the exciting and exponential growth of the WNBA, there is the opportunity to help set the foundation for branded content at the league and steward custom content for 40+ marketing partners of the league. The position will work closely with the Head of Content and content leads to develop branded content strategy and workflows while contributing to creative ideation and pitches. The ideal candidate will have both a passion for storytelling -- always seeking creative and innovative ways to deliver compelling content. They will also have an obsession for organization and process implementation – always aiming for stronger communication and collaboration across stakeholders.
This is a historical time for the WNBA, and as a sports league, no day will be the same. So the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative will be critical, but met with opportunity to help grow the future of women’s sports.
Major Responsibilities:
- With the head of content help build strategy and process for branded content and liaise with Global Partnerships to create and strategize across our roster of partners to meet their brand objectives
- Development, implement and maintain branded content guidance and intake
- In partnership with content leads, help develop creative ideas pitches and executions for branded content across social, digital and original content and work closely with partnerships team on content planning and inventory for brand partners
- Work with social and digital teams on publishing calendar for branded content
- Ensure partner integration and be a thought partner in innovative and authentic ways to integrate brand partners into WNBA storytelling
- Work with internal teams to ideate and create unique video, photo and graphic content around WNBA partnerships that is optimized for each social media platform
- Coordinate publishing of branded content posts with WNBA social and digital publishing team
- Ability to assist with publishing on WNBA social and digital platforms when needed
- Analyze metrics and optimize content to continue to increase views and engagement
- Report on and track current branded campaigns performance
- Research market trends and what content our fans are engaging with
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- 2—5 year’s experience in Branded Content with particular focus on content management and development and demonstrated experience taking a concept from ideation to execution
- Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the WNBA and its players, coaches, and teams Knowledgeable about all social media platforms and how to create content for each
- Understanding of how the WNBA’s marketing partners activate across social and digital platforms
- Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach
- Great organization and communication skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position will include nights and weekends based on the WNBA calendar
- Must be a team player who can work collaboratively
- Experience and familiarity with project management platform such as Asana, Trello or Airtable
Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000
