Position Summary:
The Next Gen team is building a multi-platform experience to advance our current free and premium digital offerings, showcasing product innovation while connecting NBA fans directly to each other and global communities of interest. 


We are building a new digital platform to grow users, subscribers, engagement and retention through new ways of experiencing our live games, advances in AI/machine learning-enabled personalization, community features, membership, emerging technologies, and new revenue opportunities for the global NBA fan. Our goal is to help fans discover new content while engaging with all aspects of NBA fandom including merchandise, ticketing, fantasy and gaming.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the design team on crafting best-in-class user experiences across mobile, tablet and connected devices like Apple TV and Roku
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to bring designs to life for NBA fans around the globe
  • Advocate and present design work to multiple stakeholders
  • Add to and maintain our new and accessible design system 
  • Manage a growing team of product designers - helping to manage priorities and guide their career trajectories
  • Work with our research division on user testing and usability
  • Drive and/or collaborate on all user testing sessions

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 7+ years of product design experience across mobile and web on consumer-focused projects
  • Passion for design systems and data-informed product design
  • A portfolio that shows your process for problem solving, along with metrics around the success of your work
  • Proficiency in iOS and Android best practices
  • A huge plus if you've worked across connected devices (TvOS, Roku, WatchOS, etc)
  • A passion for accessible and inclusive design
  • Strong communication skills and empathy
  • A low-ego approach of challenging your own assumptions, and a desire to work collaboratively with others
  • A track record of managing and developing design talent
  • Experience using Figma



Bachelors Degree or relevant experience
