Position Summary

 

Report to the FP&A Lead and serve as key member of the FP&A team for the region. The position will focus on all aspects of management reporting, budgeting, projection, commercial deal analysis, financial due diligence, as well as expense management for the region.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Subject matter expert in conducting detailed financial analysis during annual Business Planning and quarterly projection process for Asia & India, supporting the Head of Finance / FP&A Lead to develop multiple years’ revenue & expense targets
  • Act as a key liaison and contact window with NBA HQ FP&A team to ensure smooth business plan/forecast submission. Be the subject matter expert/superuser for Workday Adaptive Planning (NBA’s Planning System), OfficeConnect, SAP Analysis/Reporting for Asia & India
  • Work closely with the controllership/accounting team to carry out regular monthly financial review to identify risks/opportunities in both revenues and expenses. Prepare reclasses and year end accruals and ensure that the closing results is correctly reflective of the business performance
  • Monitor and prepare monthly/quarterly management reports in a timely manner for all business units in the region
  • Partner with the controllership team to enhance controls and put in place financial safeguards for Accounts Receivables as well as Accounts Payable
  • Regular interaction with the commercial teams to help them understand the status of each team’s target attainment and variance drivers
  • Work with the business partners in the primary cost centers to drive expense management discipline and ensure optimal expense spending efficiencies
  • Manage regular expense tracking and recognition process through weekly expense reporting and AP system process (in Corcentric)
  • Support FP&A lead and collaborate with the business partners during deal initiation and negotiation stages with detailed financial modelling/analyses and business case preparation
  • Ascertain the creditworthiness of all potential/existing commercial partners of NBA Asia & India with detailed credit rating analyses and provide recommendation to Head of Finance before contracting begins

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Strong/expert knowledge in business/reporting analytics, financial modelling and financial forecasting systems. Knowledge in Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus
  • Business partnering experience in matrix organizations is highly advantageous
  •  Motivated to drive continuous improvements in existing planning/forecasting/expense management processes, with limited supervision
  • Comfortable to navigate in a culturally diverse organization
  • Detailed oriented and able to handle large volume of data

 

Experience Needed

  • 7-10 years professional experience in a finance (FP&A), Strategy, or Business Analytics role. Open to candidates from all industries
  • Experience working for an MNC – exposure with Asia would be a plus
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarins would be a plus.
  • Prior business partnership experience is a definite advantage.
  • Comfortable to work with multiple business stakeholders at any given time and able to multitask with different priorities at a given time
  • Strong communication/listening skills
