Position Description: 

The Global Content and Media Distribution function manages relationships with the NBA's television and digital media partners. The group leads the distribution of NBA, WNBA, NBA G League and USA Basketball games and programming content in more than 200 countries and territories. The content is circulated in more than 40 different languages, reaching millions of households worldwide. The Global Content and Distribution team also manages the NBA's websites and its premium SVOD service, International League Pass.


The NBA is seeking a highly talented, skilled and self-motivated individual to join a team that is focused on best-in-class partner support, understanding changing consumer consumption pattern and developing strategies and tactics for the future.


The Digital professional will be responsible for managing its digital and direct-to-consumer partnerships primarily in the NBA's priority digital growth markets including Japan and South Korea focusing on account management, partner support, subscription and revenue growth activities and renewal and relationship expansion.


Major Responsibilities: 

  • Day-to-day key account manager of the NBA's digital media and the NBA's direct-to-consumer premium SVOD business activities (International League Pass)
  • Coordinate with Programming and Marketing teams to support and maximize partner objectives (monetization, viewership, awareness, subscription, etc)
  • Develop and execute an acquisition and retention strategy to support annuals digital content distribution plans
  • Analyze viewership and transactional data throughout the NBA season and recommend tactics to drive objectives achievement
  • Support NBA's media distribution department to exceed financials and strategic goals by leading the renewal discussions of the existing partners
  • Strategically communicate to internal stakeholders the progress and/or challenges of plan execution via thoughtful presentations, clear email updates and crisp meetings


Required Experience & Knowledge: 

  • 5+ years of work experience in the digital media industry preferably with OTT platforms and/or telecommunication and/or technology companies
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to lead and manage discussions
  • Ability to craft commercial proposals, detailed financial analyses and pitch presentations
  • Experience negotiating contracts, particularly licensing arrangements
  • Understanding of digital media and direct-to-consumer sector and evolving trends
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Fluency in English and Japanese is require(Korean language ability is preferred)
  • Experienced living or working in Japan or at a Japanese organization
  • Excellent team player attitude, adaptability to multicultural environment; high-level interpersonal, leadership and relationship building skills


Educational Background Required: 

  • College degree
  • MBA strongly preferred
