The Strategy Manager role within NBA Latin America is a position responsible for supporting the Head of Strategy and regional Managing Director with analyzing strategic opportunities in the region. This includes the planning and execution of a regional growth plan, focusing on monetization, fan engagement, and key partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business strategy role, with a special focus on steering interdepartmental collaboration. The candidate will oversee regional strategic initiatives by leading planning workstreams, managing project timelines, preparing presentation materials, financial modeling, and communicating with multiple departments across the region and in New York. This role will report to the LATAM Head of Strategy, based in New York.
Major Responsibilities:
Regional Priorities & Key Metrics
- Support Head of Strategy with creation of annual regional priorities & key metrics, and track progress on these metrics with all the departments on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
- Work in partnership with Human Resources to ensure employees’ goals are aligned with organizational and regional priorities.
- Establish communication with key stakeholders and departments in NY and other NBA Regions to identify key learnings and opportunities for LATAM business.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and LATAM Employee Advisory Forum on regional initiatives that drive employee engagement, collaboration, and ultimately improve performance.
Strategic Planning
- Support Head of Strategy with long-term planning for the region, including collaboration with Finance on financial projections and assumptions and analysis of new investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with external consultants on specific engagements as a key NBA LATAM project lead and contributor.
- Support Head of Strategy and other Department Heads in leading workstreams for key long-term strategic projects each year from start to finish, identifying feasibility of execution, resources needed, vendors involved, metrics to achieve, and necessary budget.
- Support short to medium term strategic projects for various LATAM departments; gather and analyze data, prepare presentations, conduct research, and establish and track metrics.
- Design clear processes, strong communication, and timeline management to gather input/feedback from each department, ensuring the effective development of strategic projects.
- Maintain and build trusted relationships with leadership and their teams.
Reporting & Analytics
- Monthly preparation of reports for LATAM Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to highlight business updates and regional accomplishments.
- Lead annual process of aggregating key achievements from each department in a visual presentation for internal and external stakeholders; detail all key metrics reached against goals and showcase regional platforms and partnerships.
- Support creation of materials for key regional events including event fact sheet, event recaps, metrics trackers, financial performance review, and key visuals.
- Manage the NBA LATAM HUB site in SharePoint to report and distribute regional accomplishments, news, and key metrics tracking.
- Monitor strategic project performance and prepare detailed tracking reports.
Executive Presentations & Meetings
- Prepare materials for key presentations including internal quarterly business reviews, annual business planning, team offsites, and others.
- Prepare agenda for key LATAM meetings including all-hands, senior leadership meetings, annual business planning conferences, and others.
- Support Head of Strategy in planning and executing strategic planning meetings, collaborating with participants and summarizing discussion points and next steps.
- Develop other supporting materials/analyses requested by Senior Leadership Team and/or Global Strategy Group in New York.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- 5+ years of professional experience, preferably at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or corporate strategy group in media/entertainment or other relevant industry
- International experience or knowledge preferred
- Must be comfortable navigating complex, matrix-shaped organizations and be persuasive and empathetic to various departments
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently as well as within a team environment
- Willingness and ability to engage with stakeholders (including senior executives), communicate insights and problem-solving in a flexible, professional manner
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications
- Outstanding quantitative, financial, research and modeling skills
- Solid project management background with experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
- Proven track record in managing multiple projects, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Ability to gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, draw conclusions and act on findings
Education:
- BA/BS degree required
Salary Range: MXN 675,000 - 925,000
