This Media Distribution Coordinator, Project Employee plays a key role as a bridge between media partners and various NBA content distribution stakeholders, including NBA League Pass – Direct to Consumer, Content Production, Programming, Marketing, Finance, Research, Digital, and Legal teams. The Media Distribution Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the seamless execution of projects and promotional initiatives with partners while fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

This position demands the ability to multitask effectively and proactively identify and address individual partner needs, facilitating cooperation and mapping content opportunities that align with our strategic objectives. Responsibilities include compiling viewership data, managing promotional activations, overseeing sweepstakes programs, secure promotional and marketing support, and more.

 

The goal of this role is to optimize media partner relationships, streamline workflows, and enhance the NBA's influence on partners, ensuring that they extract maximum value from licensed rights and achieve their business goals.

 

 

Major Responsibilities

 

Partner Deliverables

  • Conduct promotional activations with partners in LATAM; assist in organizing NBA Team watch parties, coordinating broadcasts with media partners and handling logistical details.
  • Manage and execute sweepstakes programs (e.g., NBA All-Access) with partners during major events such as All-Star Weekend, NBA Finals, and the Mexico Game.
  • Review and approve marketing assets submitted by partners to ensure alignment with NBA brand standards.
  • Submit and track BR (Business Requirement) submissions for creative assets featuring NBA to ensure timely completion of projects with LATAM partners.
  • Provide email authorizations to partners for each new content delivery, facilitating smooth distribution processes.
  • Manage and distribute League Pass codes among partners, prospects, and LATAM colleagues.
  • Oversee NBA ticket requests process for media partners and prepare gifts to strengthen partner relationships.

 

Deal Management and Process Support

  • Manage updates and maintain accurate information for all current Global Media Distribution (GMD) deals, including the due diligence and deal memo processes. Track approvals and renewals and provide support for the technical delivery of content to partners.
  • Prepare billing requisition forms for partners with variable revenues. Collect and verify Withholding Tax certificates from partners to ensure compliance with regulations, while collaborating with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Finance teams to monitor the status of ongoing payments and facilitate timely invoice processing for partners in LATAM.
  • Construct, deliver, and execute sales presentations, business cases, and detailed market briefing materials to support and further develop the media strategy.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with media partners and internal stakeholders.

 

 

Reporting

  • Draft weekly updates to communicate project status and developments to internal stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze hours watched, viewership data and League Pass reporting data from all LATAM partners in collaboration with Media Insights Team in New York.
  • Provide regular revisions to fact sheet documents related to the reported metrics reported to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct market intelligence research on pricing and distribution strategies employed by competitors (such as the NFL, Netflix, F1, etc.) while seeking and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the media landscape in the region. (e.g., OTT, mobile VAS offerings, social media, sponsor-supported programs, etc.).

 

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

 

  • A strong interest in the media industry, focusing on content distribution and new media platforms (social media, mobile, OTT, and others).
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify issues and develop effective solution.
  • Proven hands-on account management experience and multi-tasking capability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing new projects, as well as establishing and nurturing external and internal relationships (including planning, execution, and delivery).
  • Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced capabilities with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of systems including deal management (DMS), invoice payments (Corcentric), and others needed for day-to-day tasks.
  • Experience in television content and/or channel distribution at a top-rated media company, broadcaster, or sports league is a plus.
  • Experience in working in multicultural environments.
  • Must be a team player who can work collaboratively

 

Educational Background Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital or communications.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English, Portuguese is a plus.

 

Salary Range: MXN 575,000 - 815,000
