POSITION SUMMARY
GCMD is seeking a Director position to work with Tencent Account team in Beijing Office. This postion is aiming to obtain business opportunities with Tencent Gaming & Wechat businesses for a deeper engagement with the Tencent Ecosystem. It is also a significant move for NBA China to create more possibilites with Tencent Client in the coming future. This position will support GCMD’s new strategic goals of maximizing Key Account value and multiply commercial assets. The position will be based in
Beijing. He/She shall report to Tencent account Senior Director under our new team structure.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bridge business connections with Tencent top Gaming studios (Timi\Lightspeed), Wechat mini games on the business purpose of IP cobranding, Content collaboration, Marketing cooperation etc.
- Maintain and develop business relationships with top Tencent Gaming products (Honor of Kings\Game for peace etc.) as well as Wechat Mini Games to ensure smooth and satisfied business results.
- Create new opportunities between NBA IP, content, services and Marketing assets and Tencent Gaming IPs for the benefit of mutual giant user groups
- Take responsibilities for both Business Development results and Business Income results. Support the team leader in establishing and implementing new cooperation opportunities, including, but limited to Gaming, Content, Merchandise.
- Provide insight and support to institutional campaigns. Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient execution of projects
- Stay up to date with Online Gaming, Business Development, Product Operation, Marketing, Entertainment, Social Media trends, Strategies.
- Capable to manage new business opportunities with the client, famiilar with business concept and scope of our business strategic targets.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of the Online Gaming business in China, working experience in Tencent related gaming studios is preferred, ideally in the field of Game Marketing, Game Distribution, Game Operations etc.
- Mature experiences on Marketing and BD fields, close relationships with Tencent Gaming and Wechat buisnesses, familiar with Tencent Gaming as well as Sports business in China.
- Ability to gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, draw conclusions, provide recommendations, act on findings, and present results. Able to work under challenging environment.
- Strong knowledge of the NBA (its players, teams and history), basketball and sports is a Plus. Knowledge and understanding of digital media, entertainment, gaming, and technology landscape.
- Highly motivated and a proactive self-starter with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in oral and written English and Mandarin Chinese.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- 8+ years of experience in Marketing, Advertising or applicable fields, with exposure to Strategic Planning, Project Execution, Supplier Management and Client Services.
- Experience in working with top digital platforms on Marketing campaign, Monetization, Business Development. Has the mindset of Internet product operations.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree.
- Experience in Sports or Tencent (WXG or IEG) is preferred.
