Manager, Branded Attractions, NBA China

Position Description: 

This Manager will be responsible for construction oversight and project management for various NBA Branded Attractions Projects in Greater China.

The Manager will have primary responsibility to liaise with third party project management teams and internal facilities and administration stakeholders to insure quality design and build-out of NBA standard brick and mortar projects in Greater China, in particular, upcoming NBA Playzone projects.

The Manager will manage and oversee all phases of the related construction projects, from review and coordination on relevant RFPs through design, pre-construction, construction, handover, closeout and building operations.

The Manager insures that contract documents are adhered to, that work is on schedule and within budget and that the project and all related workstreams are brought to a satisfactory completion.


Major Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the development of NBA-branded consumer destinations & experiences in Greater China (NBA Center, NBA Playzone, NBA Experience and other NBA-branded destinations and experiences).
  • Manage internal processes required to move the business forward, including internal presentations and review of compliance with intellectual property guidelines.
  • Lead project teams and take initiating in managing information, establishing expectations, and maintaining quality and cost effectiveness for overall project.
  • Establish and communicate across the project team the expectations and accountability necessary for project success.
  • Deliver timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party designers, project management teams, landlords, general and subcontractors on project status and address questions and plan modifications and provide cost status summaries, pre-construction schedules and procurement schedules as required.
  • Prepare and manage master project schedules and workplans for all phases of Branded Attraction projects, including project safety, staffing and aligning the required resources, including internal and external stakeholders and third-party designers, project management teams, landlords, general and subcontractors, insuring that the contract documents are followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.


Required Experience & Knowledge: 

  • Bi-lingual in Mandarin and English
  • Expert knowledge of commercial construction methods, process and management practices
  • Extremely well developed project and time management skills - demonstrated ability to coordinate, follow up and complete projects on schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with franchise partners, landlords and franchised/licensed operations inGreater China
  • Understanding of consumer branding and marketing, and delivery of consumer experiences/programs
  • Flexible, energetic, able to learn quickly and juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent negotiation, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with great attitude
  • Pro-active thinking and actions
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Interest or experience in the sports or attractionsindustry.
  • 8+ years of total experience in retail, franchise development and or regional operationsmanagement in Greater China.
  • Experience working with government regulatory and government-related entities.


Educational Background Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree required.
